Grazie a LAV Oltrepò Pavese, Fridays for future Voghera. Legambiente Voghera-Oltrepò,G.A.S. Voghera e S.O.M.S.

Thanks to LAV Oltrepò Pavese, Fridays for future Voghera. Legambiente Voghera-Oltrepò,G.A.S. Voghera e S.O.M.S. DI VOGHERA APS for giving us the opportunity, last night, to attend “Food for profit” by Giulia Innocenzi and Pablo D’ambrosio, at the Arlecchino cinema-theater in Voghera.
It’s a punch in the stomach, but it affects all of us.
The documentary cleverly shows the connection between the meat industry, lobbies and political power… and there are NO half measures.
In the documentary it is denounced that the European community, through heavy lobbying, has allocated 400 billion euros to the common agricultural policy over the last 7 years, money which, instead of helping farmers to support their income, has gone to large groups industrial and intensive farming.
“This thing – says Giulia Innocenzi – is never said but, in my opinion, it is a shocking thing: because we pay with OUR TAXES for intensive farming which, we know very well, unfortunately, keeps the animals in terrible conditions, pollutes the environment and Above all, they constitute a danger to us humans. Both for the type of product that comes out of these farms, but also for the danger of future pandemics.
Why do we finance them then? “
